A new job in a new country, a different language. No friends, no family and little time to find a room, find your way to work and find out how everything works in Luxembourg. But, hey, don’t panic. The European Commission has the perfect solution for you: a pair of their best liaison trainees, brand new and fully equipped with all the answers and infinite patience and understanding!
Dearest Danai and Mateja, today’s newsletter is our small thank-you gift for you. The first month of our stage is over, we are all grown-up and independent and starting to organise ourselves to make the most of our time here, but all you can see in this newsletter, the formed subcommittees, the upcoming events and the language courses are there because of you and your help. You have answered the same questions over and over again, taken us to delightful places (with several dozens of us flocking behind you like school children on a field trip) and shared your experience to make ours amazing. You have created the foundations we needed to build upon, and all we can do in exchange is pay it forward to the next stagiers when the time comes. And maybe get the Traineeships’ Office and also President Juncker to sign special permits so you can stay by our side and keep the Liaison Trainee badge for the next four months.
