Dear fellow trainees!
We proudly present you the Trips Subcommittee which is at your service to make this traineeship totally unforgettable. We are here to suggest, to recommend, to organise, to make it happen. To fill up this 5-month trip with shorter ones and to explore the area to the fullest.
Travelling is about discovering and rediscovering (places, people, friends, ourselves), about seeing, meeting, experiencing, about tiny, yet spectacular moments, about great and unforgettable sceneries, about building lifelong friendships, about exploring and sharing, about asking and telling. One wise man once said that the world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page. So our suggestion is simple – let’s read as many pages as possible and let’s do that together!
Among our plans we have Luxembourg and the neighbouring countries, we have cities and nature, culture and entertainment, seeing new places and trying new experiences.
We will start with Metz in France which is said to be incredibly lovely and charming. According to Lonely Planet, its charms consist of “buzzy pavement cafes and shady riverside parks, a beautiful old town built from golden Jeumont stone and a regal Quartier Impérial up for Unesco World Heritage status”. We will check that on the first Saturday after Easter, 11 April. Book the date and wait for more detailed info right after the holidays.
After the official visit to Brussels in May (21st & 22nd) we will stay there for the weekend and will explore some other Belgian places. The plan is to stay in one place all together, travel around and have a super awesome weekend! Again, more details after Easter.
We will also travel around Luxembourg and get to know this apparently diverse and interesting country and we are considering other destinations in France, Germany and maybe elsewhere. We are open to your suggestions and after Easter we will carry out some short polls to see what you mostly wish for. We will also organise a longer final trip towards the end of our traineeship, the destination for which is yet to be chosen. Sounds like 4 busy months ahead, so for now we wish you nice and peaceful holidays and we hope that you will be back with even more energy and enthusiasm for some amazing trips together!
